Yeongyang-gun in North Gyeongsang Province will hold the "2026 Yeongyang Firefly Night Market" on the lawn in front of the county office Friday and Saturday, with local youth taking a leading role in organizing the two-day event, the county announced Wednesday.

Organized by the Yeongyang Cheonguhoe and sponsored by Yeongyang-gun, the night market aims to offer residents and tourists a range of entertainment and inject new energy into the community.

Over the two days, visitors can enjoy food stalls, food trucks, hands-on experience programs and a street noraebang. Entertainment highlights include a performance by singer Kim Chae-an and a magic, circus and fire show titled "Majul Gongyeone Bar-jin Namja."

"I hope this night market, born from the ideas and passion of local youth, will give both residents and tourists a memorable summer night and serve as an opportunity to bring new vitality to the region," Yeongyang County Chief Oh Do-chang said.
