Grade-specific learning materials for elementary, middle and high school children from multicultural families in Suncheon
Hyundai Steel's Suncheon factory held a donation ceremony Tuesday in partnership with the Suncheon Family Center to support the stable settlement and family welfare of multicultural households in the city.
The contribution is part of the factory's corporate social responsibility program and aims to improve the foundational academic skills of elementary, middle and high school students from multicultural families living in Suncheon.
By funding the purchase of grade-appropriate learning materials, the initiative seeks to improve access to education services and ease the financial burden of child-rearing, helping multicultural families build stable lifestyles and supporting the healthy development of their children.
Hyundai Steel's Suncheon factory has donated 3 million won ($2,120) annually toward textbook purchases since 2018.
Through the program, the factory provides tailored education services and a steady supply of learning materials to elementary, middle and high school students from multicultural families in the area who need support in academic achievement and social and emotional development.
"We will continue our social contribution activities to promote the welfare of low-income and vulnerable groups, and strive to bring hope and encouragement to those in need," a Hyundai Steel official said.
