Sales hit 770.5b won, operating profit 173.9b won; operating margin at 23%

Record quarterly PC sales; overseas revenue accounts for 52% of total

NCsoft posted a surprise set of earnings in the second quarter, with operating profit surging 1,053% from a year earlier on the strength of its new title Lineage Classic.

The company disclosed Tuesday that its consolidated second-quarter sales reached 770.5 billion won ($544 million), with operating profit coming in at 173.9 billion won.

Both figures represent year-on-year gains — sales rose 101% and operating profit jumped 1,053%. The operating margin stood at 23%.

Korea accounted for 48% of revenue by region, Asia for 25%, and North America, Europe and other markets for 27%. Overseas sales made up 52% of total revenue, surpassing the domestic share, and NCsoft said the overseas revenue ratio has grown for four consecutive quarters.

PC game sales reached 343.8 billion won, setting an all-time quarterly record. NCsoft said Lineage Classic drove the result, generating 185.5 billion won in sales during the quarter. Cumulative sales since launch through late June stood at 269.1 billion won over 140 days. Sales of Lineage Remastered also grew 18% quarter-on-quarter.

Mobile game sales came in at 185.3 billion won. Lineage M grew 4% from the previous quarter.

Mobile casual sales totaled 169.7 billion won, reflecting the first-time consolidation of JustPlay, a global mobile game platform. The mobile casual segment accounted for 22% of total sales.

NCsoft plans to participate in Gamescom 2026, the world's largest gaming trade show, opening in Cologne, Germany, on Aug. 26, where it will showcase a global lineup of new titles including Aion 2, Cinder City and Project Bonfire.
