Gangneung Asan Hospital and its labor union have concluded their 2026 wage negotiations, reaching an agreement centered on equity among staff and the principle of mutual growth. The hospital and the Gangneung Asan Hospital Labor Union, led by union chair Lee Eun-gyeong, began talks with a formal introductory meeting on July 7 and held multiple rounds of negotiations before finalizing a deal that includes a wage increase, a lump-sum settlement payment and a Gangneung Pay benefit for all employees.

"Through dialogue built on mutual respect and trust, we were able to reach a meaningful agreement," hospital director Yoo Chang-sik said Tuesday. "I hope this becomes an opportunity to further strengthen an organizational culture of consideration and shared growth."

By agreeing to pay the settlement bonus as a fixed lump sum rather than as a percentage of salary, the two sides reduced the gap in payouts across different pay grades and improved fairness among staff.
