The Korea Power Exchange forecast electricity demand for the second week of August (Aug. 10-14) at 92.9 to 96.7 gigawatts, exceeding the season's previous peak of 95.321 GW set on Friday. As summer vacations wind down, industrial activity is expected to rebound this week, gradually lifting power consumption. Should the heat wave and tropical nights persist, demand could surpass the all-time record of 97.115 GW.
