NH-Amundi Asset Management said Tuesday it held its second ESG Steering Committee meeting of 2026 on Aug. 3 and passed an amendment to its ESG regulations.
The committee voted to rename the "ESG Management Regulations" to "ESG Regulations" and to delegate operational matters to the "Responsible Investment Integration Guidelines."
The amendment formally enshrines the "ESG First" vision in the purpose clause and introduces new provisions on transition finance. It is set to take effect after final board approval.
Transition finance refers to the channeling of capital to high-emission industries and companies that have science-based transition plans and emissions-reduction targets, supporting their shift to a low- or zero-carbon economy.
The committee also received reports on the publication of the annual "2026 NH-Amundi Responsible Investment and Stewardship Report" and on key ESG initiatives for the second half of the year.
The second-half priorities reported to the committee were: finalizing the "NH-Amundi ESG First 2028" roadmap, establishing a transition finance framework, and responding to revisions to the stewardship code.
The roadmap is expected to comprise three overarching goals — building responsible investment infrastructure, strengthening stewardship activities, and enhancing external cooperation and disclosure — along with 10 strategic tasks.
A transition finance seminar was also held ahead of the committee meeting. Kim Eui-jun, a partner at PwC, presented on domestic and international policy trends and offered recommendations on how the company could internalize transition finance practices. The seminar ran simultaneously online and in person so that all employees could attend as part of a company-wide ESG education initiative.
"This regulatory overhaul is about bringing together the previously separate ESG standards for management and investment operations into a single framework," said Gil Jeong-seop, chief executive of NH-Amundi Asset Management. "We will not stop at revising the regulations — we will move quickly to complete the 'NH-Amundi ESG First 2028' roadmap, including our transition finance strategy, so that it can be embedded in actual investment decision-making."
NH-Amundi Asset Management has also been active in fulfilling its social responsibilities. The firm participated in a youth work-experience support project co-organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, providing 62 young people with hands-on experience in asset management. It also recently sent volunteers to a grape farm in Gapyeong with which it has a sister-community partnership.
