Ulsan is launching its 2026 Job-Creating Strong Small Business Selection and Support Project to identify and support promising local small and medium-sized enterprises that lead in job creation and workplace improvement.
Eligible applicants are small and medium-sized enterprises that have maintained their headquarters and operations in Ulsan for at least two years as of the announcement date Tuesday, employ 10 or more full-time workers, and operate in manufacturing, manufacturing-related services, knowledge-based services, or meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE)-related industries.
The city will select 10 companies through a three-stage process — an initial document review, an on-site inspection and a final selection committee deliberation — based on 12 indicators covering job creation performance, employment stability and workplace welfare conditions.
Each selected company will receive a certification plaque and a working-environment improvement grant of 20 million won ($14,100).
Selected companies will also receive a 0.5 percentage point interest rate preference when applying for small and medium-sized enterprise management stabilization loans, expanded guarantee limits and a 10 percent insurance premium discount from SGI Seoul Guarantee, a three-year moratorium on local tax probes, and bonus points when participating in Ulsan trade support projects.
Interested companies may apply Tuesday through Aug. 31 on the Ulsan Economy and Jobs Promotion Agency website.
