Busan Port Authority (BPA) announced Tuesday that it has received reaccreditation as a career-exploration education institution under a program run by the Ministry of Education. The program certifies organizations that provide high-quality, free career-exploration services to local communities.

BPA first received accreditation in 2023 and earned reaccreditation in recognition of its sustained efforts to provide education and career-exploration activities for children and youth in the region. The authority will retain its accredited status for three years through 2029.

BPA has run a range of programs aimed at nurturing future talent for Busan as a maritime hub and building an education framework in cooperation with local governments and public institutions.

This year, in partnership with the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, BPA is operating an after-school experience program for children in elementary after-school care centers across Busan, drawing on the authority's resources and industry expertise. It has also consistently held harbor guide-vessel experience events for underprivileged children and youth. On Friday, BPA offered career-exploration and hands-on experience opportunities in the maritime field through the "2026 Future Dream ESG Ocean Science Camp."

"We will continue to work closely with local governments and the broader community to support children and young people in the region as they grow into future leaders in the maritime and port sectors," BPA President Song Sang-geun said.
