Sampyo Group announced Tuesday that it has expanded technical exchanges with concrete and civil engineering experts.

Sampyo Industries held its "2026 Sampyo Industries Technical Tour" on Thursday at its S&I Center research institute and production factory in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi Province, for members of the Korea Concrete Institute's Women's Committee and the Korean Society of Civil Engineers' Women's Technology Committee.

The tour drew more than 20 participants, including Korea Concrete Institute President Hong Geon-ho and professors and researchers from the women's committees. Three student journalists from the Korea Concrete Institute also attended.

The roughly two-hour program comprised a special concrete technology seminar and a facility tour. Yun Seop, head of Sampyo Industries' Concrete S&I team, opened with a presentation on the company's research and development in special concrete VAP and mortar. Participants then toured the S&I Center and the Hwaseong ready-mixed concrete and mortar factory, followed by a question-and-answer session on technology and production processes.

Sampyo Industries conducts research and development in construction base materials — including concrete and mortar — centered on the S&I Center. The tour gave academic experts a firsthand look at the full pipeline from R&D to production, opening both the research facilities and the actual ready-mixed concrete and mortar production floor to visitors.

"It was a meaningful occasion to introduce Sampyo Industries' special concrete technology and research operations directly to academic experts," a company official said. "We will continue to engage with academic societies and broaden the scope of industry-academia cooperation."
