Jungnang-gu completed Seoul Metropolitan Government approval and topographic map publication for the Moa Town management plan covering the area around 453-1 Myeongmok 3·8-dong on Thursday.
The project covers 80,494.1 square meters. The approval concludes roughly two years of work to designate the area as a Moa Town management zone, laying the groundwork for full-scale redevelopment.
The site is a low-rise residential neighborhood within a 10-minute walk of Sagajeong Station on subway Line 7, giving it strong locational advantages.
Under the approved plan, Moa Housing projects and infrastructure improvements will advance in tandem to create a more livable environment. Six existing street-housing redevelopment zones will be consolidated into five Moa Housing projects, enabling the systematic redevelopment of 2,334 units in total, including 433 public rental homes.
To improve project viability, the plan upgrades the zoning designation for the project area from second-class general residential to third-class general residential.
Narrow internal roads currently 8 meters wide or less will be widened to up to 15 meters, and a new intersection connecting to Yongmasanno will be built to improve pedestrian safety and traffic flow.
A children's park and public open space will also be established to further improve the quality and safety of the residential environment.
"The Myeongmok 3·8-dong Moa Town is the result of active resident participation and cooperation," Jungnang-gu District Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said. "We will continue to provide the necessary administrative support to ensure the project moves forward smoothly, and we will do our utmost to create a pleasant residential environment and expand housing supply."
