British actress Minnie Driver, known for her role in "Good Will Hunting," has revealed she recently survived a serious car accident, crediting the airbags in her Kia with saving her life.

Driver posted a video to her Instagram showing herself lying down in a neck brace and updating followers on her condition.

"A few days ago, my friend Ben and I were in a terrible car accident, but we got out alive," she said.

Driver said the crash was not her fault. "We were driving on a country road in the middle of France when a car came speeding through an intersection without stopping and hit us head-on," she said.

She added that she had sprained her neck and was still in shock, saying she kept tearing up but expected to recover soon.

Driver said the 360-degree airbags in her Kia EV2 were "the reason I am alive."

"This is absolutely not a car advertisement. I just want to praise the car that saved us," she said.

She closed the video by saying, "Kia, you are a truly incredible car company — genuinely brilliant, and on behalf of myself and my friend Ben, I thank you from the bottom of my heart."

In a separate Instagram story, Driver joked that she would change her name to "Kia Driver," again expressing her gratitude to the automaker.

Driver won an Academy Award nomination for best supporting actress for her role as Skylar, the Harvard student girlfriend of the title character Will — played by Matt Damon — in "Good Will Hunting."
