The 2026 New Content Academy Showcase, featuring works created with AI, extended reality and virtual reality, will run for three days starting Aug. 19 at the Content Talent Campus and Content Culture Plaza in Hongreung, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul.
The New Content Academy is a training program designed to develop specialists in convergent content using emerging technologies. The Korea Creative Content Agency supports participants over two years with mentoring from industry professionals and project-based education covering the full pipeline — from concept development and production to technical implementation.
This year's showcase brings together 21 student teams presenting projects developed through the program's curriculum — eight teams from the second cohort of the long-term track and 13 from the third cohort.
Visitors can experience the projects firsthand and see what participants have achieved across content planning and technical execution.
The exhibition presents works that blend emerging technologies with storytelling and culture, spanning generative AI-based content services, XR and VR experiences, and interactive media art — pointing to new possibilities for the future content industry. Featured projects include a first-person immersive adventure cinema that lets audiences experience how misinformation can become part of an accepted truth, and a self-directed travel simulation game for people with developmental disabilities, guided by an AI companion.
Projects will be displayed throughout the Content Talent Campus, with each work open for visitors to experience directly and discuss with its creators.
In addition, an NCA Open Stage will run at Stage 66 in the Content Culture Plaza throughout the event, bringing together industry professionals, students and visitors for lectures and discussions on a range of topics.
On the opening day, Jo Nam-hyeong, director of the drama series "The Legend of Kitchen Soldier," and original author J. Robin will discuss the potential for expanding content intellectual property.
On the second day, Shin Woo-seok of production company Dolphin Kidnapping Gang will share his creative experiences. On the final day, Jang Hang-jun, director of "The King's Warden," and Song Eun-i, chief executive of content production company Media Lab Seesaw, will discuss their experiences in the content industry and their approaches to creative work.
Gu Gyeong-bon, head of the Content Infrastructure Division at the Korea Creative Content Agency, said talented people who combine new technologies with creative ideas are "the core driving force behind change and growth in the content industry." He added that the agency would continue to strengthen its talent development framework — integrating technology education, project work and industry connections — "so that the next generation can open up new possibilities in the content industry on the basis of technology and creativity."
Advance registration for the showcase is available through the New Content Academy's official website. On-site registration will also be accepted on the day of the event.
