K-pop legends BIGBANG are marking their 20th anniversary with a new single — and a coming-of-age moment for the group.

According to YG Entertainment, BIGBANG will release a new digital single, "BiiiG," on Aug. 19 at 6 p.m.

The release comes roughly four years and four months after their previous single, "Spring Summer Fall Winter (Still Life)," which dropped in April 2022.

The title "BiiiG" draws from the word "big," meaning large or grand, and is rooted in the group's own name, BIGBANG — a familiar word rewritten in their own style.

YG Entertainment said "BiiiG" is "the song that most vividly captures where BIGBANG stands today, on the occasion of their 20th debut anniversary," adding that fans can look forward to "yet another dimension of the musical spectrum from a group that has built its own unrivaled world over the years."

Alongside the single's release, BIGBANG will kick off the Goyang leg of their 20th-anniversary world tour — BIGBANG 2026-2027 World Tour <XX : COSMOS> — on Aug. 21. The tour spans 33 shows across 19 cities worldwide, taking in North America, Europe, Oceania and Asia.

BIGBANG debuted in 2006 as a second-generation K-pop group that extended the genre's reach beyond Asia into Europe and North America. The group built an extensive catalog of hits — including "Lies," "Haru Haru," "Last Farewell," "Bang Bang Bang" and "Fantastic Baby" — and won broad popular appeal across generations with a freewheeling hip-hop sensibility that broke from the tightly constructed worldbuilding typical of mainstream K-pop.
