Kyungpook National University announced Monday that it has signed a written MOU with Chonnam National University (President Lee Geun-bae) to establish a "Dalbit Alliance" education partnership between the two national flagship universities.
Under the agreement, the two universities will build a "Dalbit Alliance (Kyungpook National University–Chonnam National University) Joint Campus," pursuing mutual openness and collaboration to cultivate top AI talent and promote shared growth for their regional communities and industries.
Key provisions include credit exchange and student-faculty exchange programs, joint development and operation of physical AI curricula, co-hosting of events such as AI hackathon competitions to strengthen student capabilities, and faculty exchange and cooperation through AI teaching-method improvement workshops.
As a concrete first step, the two universities will jointly launch a physical AI convergence major and begin full-scale credit exchange for students.
They will also accelerate joint development of AI robotics textbooks and coursework already underway with Keimyung University, Chosun University and Honam University within the Dalbit Alliance region.
"This collaboration will serve as an opportunity not only to nurture talent to lead future advanced industries, but also to support balanced regional development and the era of local autonomy," Kyungpook National University President Heo Young-woo said.
