The Cheongsong-gun Public Health and Medical Center in North Gyeongsang Province announced Sunday that it will begin offering urology services this month.

Consultations will be held twice a month, on Saturdays.

Cheongsong has a high proportion of elderly residents, and the number of locals dealing with urological conditions such as prostate disease and urinary disorders has been consistently rising. Until now, patients seeking specialist care had to travel to medical facilities in nearby cities, placing a significant burden on their time and finances.

With urology services now available locally, residents will be able to receive examinations, consultations and ongoing health management closer to home.

Cheongsong-gun Mayor Yun Gyeong-hui said the addition of urology services "will serve as an important step toward strengthening essential medical functions within the county and improving residents' access to healthcare."
