Muan 55 Art Center, led by Park Jae-yong, and Naju-based theater company Tagang, led by Hong Eun-young, have launched a full-scale regional cultural cooperation initiative following an MOU the two South Jeolla Province organizations signed last month.
According to 55 Art Center, the 4th Jukjeon Alley Tagang Moonlight Festival was held Friday in the Jukjeon Alley area of Yeongsan-po, Naju, drawing large crowds. The event was organized as part of a "regional co-prosperity and cultural content cooperation project" jointly pursued by the two organizations, offering residents and audiences a special cultural experience on a summer night.
The Jukjeon Alley Tagang Moonlight Festival runs every Friday and Saturday from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The two organizations plan to roll out a series of additional cultural programs aimed at regional development, including co-hosting a "humanities on the road" lecture series and mutual familiarization tours between Muan and Naju.
"We are delighted to have taken the first step toward cultural co-prosperity linking Muan and Naju," Park said. "We will continue our cooperation projects so that culture and the arts can permeate residents' daily lives beyond regional boundaries, and so that local hubs like Jukjeon Alley can be reborn as vibrant centers of urban regeneration."
