Actor Jian is set to marry Eom Jeong-uk, a former professional baseball player.

Jian announced the news Saturday on her social media, writing that she — a free spirit who had never considered marriage — would be tying the knot with Eom, who once threw the fastest pitch in the country during his playing days.

"True to his reputation as someone who threw faster than anyone, he captured my heart just as quickly," she wrote. "After a short but deep relationship, I became certain that this is the person I want to spend my life with."

She added that Eom "is someone who grew up surrounded by his parents' love, and because of that, he always puts others first and knows how to care for them — he has a truly warm heart."

Jian said the two would become each other's best friends and steadfast supporters, building a home filled with laughter.

Jian was born in 1983 and Eom in 1981, making them two years apart.

Jian was a runner-up at the 73rd National Chunhyang Beauty Pageant and has appeared in the films "Hamjeong" and "Gil" and the drama series "Secret Mother." She played the lead role of Ryu Su-ryeon in the 2022 film "Serve the People."

Eom began his professional career in 2000 when he joined the Ssangbangul Raiders as a pitcher. In 2002 and 2003, he recorded a then-domestic-record 158 kilometers per hour, cementing his place as the hardest thrower in Korean professional baseball history.
