LG Electronics has installed a commercial display at the home stadium of the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball.
LG Electronics said Sunday it supplied a 235-meter LED ribbon board to Dodger Stadium, the Dodgers' home venue.
The display features high brightness for clear visibility in outdoor stadiums and is built to withstand physical impact.
LG Electronics signed a strategic partnership agreement with the Dodgers under which it will serve as a marketing partner for three years starting this month. The company plans to promote its brand at Dodger Stadium through branding activations, digital and social media content, and various experiential programs.
LG Electronics and the Dodgers will also jointly run community outreach programs for residents in the California area.
Ron Rosen, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of the Los Angeles Dodgers, said the partnership "will create new opportunities to deliver innovative marketing activations, community engagement programs and special fan experiences."
Last year, LG Electronics supplied displays to Fenway Park, home of the Boston Red Sox, installing a total of 11 units. These included an LED main scoreboard measuring 30.5 meters wide by 11.5 meters tall (350.75 square meters) and a large ribbon board measuring 21.6 meters wide by 7.9 meters tall (171 square meters).
The company also supplies and operates commercial displays at M&T Bank Stadium, home of the NFL's Baltimore Ravens; AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys; and Mercedes-Benz Stadium, home of the Atlanta Falcons.
Through a string of commercial display installations at sports venues, LG Electronics is expanding its B2B business while broadening its reach to local customers.
Kwak Do-young, LG Electronics executive vice president and head of North America, said the company will "further enhance the sports experience for fans at stadiums with industry-leading commercial display technology, and continue to generate synergies between consumer-focused marketing and B2B technology integration."
