Kim Ju-hyung delivered a blistering third round at the PGA Tour's Wyndham Championship ($8.5 million purse), putting himself in position for a come-from-behind victory.

Playing Sunday at Sedgefield Country Club (par 70) in Greensboro, North Carolina, Kim carded a bogey-free 63, collecting seven birdies for a 7-under round.

At 15-under 195 for the tournament, Kim trails co-leaders Michael Brennan and Bo Hossler — both Americans at 16-under 194 — by a single stroke. The third-place finish sets up Kim's bid for his second win of the season, following his Genesis Scotland Open victory last month.

Kim's ball-striking was razor-sharp throughout the round, missing just one fairway and only two greens in regulation. He made four birdies on the front nine and kept the momentum going on the back.

On the par-4 13th, Kim stuck his approach to within 2.2 meters of the hole to tap in a birdie. He reached the green in two on the par-5 15th and two-putted for another, then on the par-4 17th dropped his approach to within a meter of the cup for an easy birdie.

Im Sung-jae moved up to a tie for 21st, carding five birdies against two bogeys for a 3-under round and a 54-hole total of 8-under 202. Im had traded two birdies for two bogeys through the 11th hole without making net progress, but a birdie on the par-4 13th sparked a late run. He added birdies on the par-5 15th and par-4 17th to close out his round.

The Wyndham Championship marks the end of the PGA Tour's regular season, after which only the top 70 players in the FedEx Cup standings advance to the playoffs. The first event, the St. Jude Championship, begins Thursday. Kim sits 34th in the standings and Im 57th — both need to accumulate more ranking points to qualify for the Tour Championship, the third and final playoff event.
