Marvel's flagship franchise "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" — widely referred to as "Spider-Man 4" — is leading the domestic box office, drawing 5 million moviegoers in just 11 days since its opening.

According to distributor Sony Pictures, the film, which opened July 29, surpassed 5 million cumulative admissions Saturday morning.

That pace is a full week faster than director Jang Hang-jun's "The King's Warden," which took 18 days to reach the same milestone, making "Spider-Man 4" the fastest-performing release of 2026.

At its current pace, the film is expected to soon overtake director Yeon Sang-ho's science-fiction thriller "Gunche," which holds second place on this year's overall box office chart with about 5.95 million cumulative admissions.

The new installment follows an adult Peter Parker, played by Tom Holland, as he navigates fresh challenges and threats. Audience satisfaction has remained high, with CGV's egg index — a viewer satisfaction score — sitting at 97 percent.

"Spider-Man 4" hit successive milestones early in its run: 1 million admissions on its second day, 2 million on its fourth, 3 million on its fifth and 4 million on its seventh. It has since ceded the top box office spot to director Christopher Nolan's "Odyssey," which opened recently.

Daily admissions have eased to around 200,000, tempering the film's initial momentum, but it holds a firm second in advance ticket sales at 31.2 percent — representing about 493,000 pre-booked seats — trailing Nolan's "Odyssey" at 51.3 percent.
