Com2uS will launch its new massively multiplayer online role-playing game "Zeus: God of Arrogance" on Aug. 26. The title was developed by Avertion, with Com2uS handling domestic service.

At a showcase held Friday at the JW Marriott Dongdaemun Square Seoul in Jongno-gu, Com2uS announced the official release date and said its goal is to create "a competitive MMORPG everyone can enjoy." The game goes live at noon on Aug. 26. Ahead of that, character name reservations open at 8 p.m. on Thursday, allowing players to secure their preferred names in advance.

Set against a backdrop of Greek mythology, Zeus: God of Arrogance centers on player-versus-player competition and diverse character growth systems. The game was built using Unreal Engine 5, a development tool capable of rendering three-dimensional graphics.

"Competition has become content for only a select few, and many players have come to find it burdensome," said Kim Dae-hwon, CEO of Avertion. "We wanted to create a competitive RPG that everyone can enjoy without feeling pressured."

Core features include the Colosseum, a 1-on-1 mode where players face off against a "Persona" — a replica of another user's stats and appearance — and the Arcadia Festival, a guild-based competitive event. The game also offers field boss battles and direct player-versus-player modes including territory wars, fortress battles and siege warfare.

Content will be added in stages. About a month after launch, the first season of "Arcadia" — comprising territory wars and siege warfare — will begin, followed by fortress battles and guild-versus-guild content. Around the three-month mark, new growth fields and bosses will be introduced, and a new character class along with a class-change feature is planned for the fourth month. Beyond that, existing content such as the Colosseum and the Hall of Trials will continue to expand.

"Our guiding principle was to broaden the target audience for each piece of content as much as possible," said Jeong Seong-hun, director at Avertion. "Repetitive progression segments can be handled comfortably in AI mode, while content that demands focus requires direct control — a structure designed to reduce fatigue and sharpen engagement."

Com2uS also unveiled a support program for small-scale content creators. Through the "Arche Creator Program," the company will select 50 first-cohort creators and provide each with a monthly activity stipend of 2 million won ($1,410) plus performance-based incentives. Recruitment for the first cohort begins after the showcase.

The company said it plans to keep players informed not only of major updates but also of outages and bugs, and will gather feedback through regular and ad hoc live broadcasts. It will deploy AI-based detection and round-the-clock monitoring to combat account farming and macro use, and will permanently ban any accounts found in violation.

"We will not turn a blind eye to behavior that disrupts the user experience — we will mobilize every possible effort and resource," said Kim Jeong-hun, head of Com2uS's business division.
