Jeju hanwoo producers, an exporter and a processing company have formed a cooperative framework to expand exports of Jeju-raised hanwoo beef to Singapore.
The Jeju chapter of the Korea Hanwoo Association, PRBiz Co. and Jeju Dream Pork Co. signed an MOU on hanwoo supply and mutual cooperation to promote hanwoo exports to Singapore at Jeju Dream Pork on Friday.
The agreement aims to build a stable overseas supply chain for Jeju hanwoo, strengthen export competitiveness and lay the groundwork for increasing farm incomes.
Under the MOU, the Jeju chapter of the Korea Hanwoo Association will provide a steady supply of high-quality hanwoo meeting Singapore export standards and local demand, while also conducting hygiene, safety and production training for farmers.
PRBiz and Jeju Dream Pork plan to operate slaughtering, processing and cold-chain distribution systems that comply with Singapore Food Agency standards and domestic quarantine requirements, ensuring the freshness and quality of exported beef.
The three parties also plan to establish a working-level Singapore Hanwoo Export Cooperation Council to share shipment schedules, set pricing guidelines and develop a sustainable long-term export model.
"This agreement will give Jeju hanwoo farmers a foothold in securing stable overseas markets," Park Chang-seok, chairman of the Jeju chapter of the Korea Hanwoo Association, said. "We will strengthen cooperation between exporters and processors to showcase the excellence of Jeju hanwoo to consumers in Singapore."
