Homeplus began a soft launch at 67 of its stores Friday after securing 200 billion won ($141 million) in emergency debtor-in-possession financing. The official reopening is set for Thursday. From Friday through Wednesday, the stores will operate in a preparatory mode to stabilize the supply chain, build out product assortment, and identify and address any operational issues ahead of the full restart. A Homeplus store in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, was among those that opened Friday under the soft-launch arrangement.
