Daesang announced Friday that it donated 35,775 Chungjeongone animal welfare-certified eggs to 51 social welfare facilities in Sejong, in partnership with the Korea Livestock Environment Management Institute and the Sejong Social Welfare Council.

A donation ceremony was held Thursday morning at the Sejong Social Welfare Council, attended by Moon Hong-gil, president of the Korea Livestock Environment Management Institute; Kim Bu-yu, chairman of the Sejong Social Welfare Council; and Lee Tae-sung, head of Daesang's egg business division.

Daesang signed an MOU with the Korea Livestock Environment Management Institute in 2023 on improving the livestock environment through corporate participation and has since donated about 104,000 eggs in total. The latest contribution marks the largest single donation under that agreement.

The donated eggs are produced at farms certified for animal welfare and antibiotic-free practices. They will be distributed to welfare facilities across Sejong — including children's centers, nursing homes and disability welfare centers — to support vulnerable residents struggling with the summer heat wave.

"As this is the largest egg donation since we signed the agreement, we hope it brings some relief to neighbors facing hardship from the heat wave," Lee said. "We will continue to fulfill our corporate social responsibility going forward."
