A campaign pledge review session held in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul

Seongbuk-gu in Seoul held a review session to examine the direction and action plans for campaign pledge projects under the ninth elected term, with District Mayor Lee Seung-ro aiming to complete the transformation of the district that has been underway throughout the seventh and eighth elected terms — a combined eight years.

The sessions, held Monday and Wednesday, provided a comprehensive discussion of implementation plans and execution strategies for key livelihood and core development projects. Participants also reviewed the operational conditions and anticipated challenges facing each department, with an emphasis on strengthening the practical effectiveness of pledge fulfillment.

The ninth-term campaign pledge projects comprise more than 80 core initiatives spanning livelihood support and regional development. Key areas include health and welfare, balanced development, transportation reform, economic vitality, cultural life and green environment — all focused on improving residents' quality of life, upgrading the residential environment, and laying the groundwork for a sustainable city.

The plan also balances area-specific projects tailored to the characteristics of each district zone with everyday projects that all residents can feel directly, with the goal of fostering harmonious development across neighborhoods and raising residents' sense of tangible benefit.

Seongbuk-gu will incorporate the findings from the review sessions to refine its pledge action plan and gather resident input through a citizens' jury panel. The district will then finalize and publicly release the plan, managing pledge implementation in a systematic manner through ongoing internal reviews and citizens' jury evaluations.

"I will carry the trust that Seongbuk-gu residents have placed in me again for the ninth elected term with an even greater sense of responsibility," District Mayor Lee said. "I will carefully review every campaign pledge and repay that trust with results that residents can feel in their daily lives."
