KT Corp said Wednesday it is running a MINIVE x Mint Raon collaboration edition pop-up store at its KT Plaza "Hongdae Ad Shop Plus" location through Aug. 16, in partnership with K-pop group IVE.

MINIVE is IVE's official character inspired by the group, while Mint Raon is KT Corp's own character conceived as a "mint-colored cat that cares for the environment."

KT Corp and Starship Entertainment signed an MOU on June 29 to cooperate on intellectual property projects using both companies' characters, and subsequently launched the MINIVE x Mint Raon collaboration edition.

The pop-up store features character figurines and the MINIVE x Mint Raon 3-in-1 fast charger, among other items. The "MINIVE x Mint Raon travel essential package," previously available only online, can be purchased in person for the first time at the store.

The pop-up extends the two companies' character IP collaboration into an offline customer experience. On top of selling collaboration goods, the event combines hands-on time with the latest smartphones and on-site activities to draw a broad range of visitors.

The travel essential package includes a docking-type portable battery with a MINIVE battery cap and a fast-charging adapter. Some character options have already sold out on KT Shopping Lounge, a commerce platform exclusive to KT membership customers.

KT Corp is also running events for in-store visitors. Those who take a commemorative photo at the collaboration photo booth and complete mobile experiences such as the fan-cam feature will be entered into a draw for Mint Raon goods and keycaps. The event is open to the first 60 visitors each day.

The Hongdae Ad Shop Plus store also has the recently released Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Fold 8 and Flip 8 on display, allowing visitors to examine the products' designs and key features firsthand.

Son Jeong-yeop, executive vice president and head of the device business division at KT Corp's Customer unit, encouraged visitors to experience both the new Galaxy Z series and the MINIVE x Mint Raon collaboration goods at Hongdae Ad Shop Plus. "We will continue to expand differentiated content and new device experience opportunities so that customers can find joy in their everyday lives," he said.
