The Federation of Korean Industries' Entrepreneurship Development Center launched a summer training program Monday for principals, vice principals and teachers nationwide, aimed at strengthening their capacity to teach entrepreneurship.

The training runs through Aug. 4 at the Korea Federation of Teachers' Associations comprehensive training center. It consists of three tracks: "Brilliant School CEO Classroom," for principals and vice principals; "Brilliant Economics Classroom"; and "Brilliant Entrepreneurship and Leadership Classroom," the latter two aimed at teachers.

The first track, the school CEO classroom, will feature lectures by Hong Seong-guk, head of Hyean Research, and Park Jeong-ho, a professor at Myongji University.

The federation will also hold the "3rd Brilliant Teacher Camp," a hands-on program for teachers, from Wednesday through Friday. Forty invited teachers will design their own lesson plans for entrepreneurship classes.

The camp will include lectures by Kang Tae-su, a visiting professor at KAIST, and Ji Sang-cheol, a professor at Korea University's Graduate School of Entrepreneurship Management, along with field trips to the Samsung Innovation Museum and Kia's AutoLand Hwaseong plant.

Kang Han-gyeore, a teacher at Daewon International Middle School who successfully developed an entrepreneurship curriculum after completing the previous camp, will also deliver a special lecture.

Jeong Cheol, director of the federation's Entrepreneurship Development Center, said entrepreneurship is "an essential core competency that enables the next generation to actively respond to change and create new value." He added that he hopes the training and camp will help teachers deepen their understanding of entrepreneurship and apply it effectively in the classroom so that the spirit of entrepreneurship spreads to the country's youth.
