NH NongHyup Financial Group held the NH NongHyup Financial-Amundi partnership committee at Amundi's headquarters in Paris, France, on July 15 to discuss ways to strengthen global cooperation with the French asset manager, the group announced Monday.

At the meeting, NH NongHyup Financial Group Chairman Lee Chan-woo and Amundi Deputy Chief Executive Olivier Mariée discussed the direction of cooperation to enhance both companies' future competitiveness — including expansion of overseas investment collaboration — as well as ways to bolster support for their joint venture, NH-Amundi Asset Management.

Talks focused particularly on introducing Amundi's AI-driven investment management system specialized in asset management, investment strategy and research; proactively building a global advanced pension management model ahead of domestic pension market changes, including the introduction of a fund-type retirement pension scheme; and exploring mutual cooperation measures to improve custodial capabilities.

"Expanding cooperation between our two companies is a strategic and complementary task to jointly build future growth engines," Lee said. "We hope to effectively leverage Amundi's global asset management capabilities to strengthen NH-Amundi's competitiveness and further solidify the global partnership between our two organizations."

NH-Amundi Asset Management is a global joint-venture asset manager established in 2003 by South Korea's NongHyup (NH) and France's Crédit Agricole (CA) on the basis of cooperative principles. Last year, the firm recorded assets under custody of 60 trillion won ($40.3 billion), ranking seventh in the industry.
