Six countries covered, including Taiwan, Vietnam and Thailand
Partnership with Grab app offers discounts on rides, food and shopping
KT Corp is rolling out budget roaming products and locally tailored partnership benefits for travelers heading to Southeast Asia this summer.
KT said Monday it will offer a "Southeast Asia budget roaming" product available in six major destinations — Taiwan, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia and Malaysia — through Oct. 31.
Priced at 25,000 won ($17) for a seven-day period, the product includes 3GB of data and 30 minutes of voice calls. Once the base data allowance runs out, customers can continue browsing at speeds of up to 400 Kbps. KT said the package was designed with optimal capacity and pricing to meet the needs of short- and medium-term travelers.
KT has also partnered with Grab to offer discounts that make getting around Southeast Asia easier. The offer is available to customers subscribed to the Together Roaming, Y Together Roaming, Budget Roaming, and All-Day Roaming Basic, Plus and Premium plans.
Customers visiting seven countries — Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and Cambodia — will automatically receive a Grab Travel Pass code by text message upon arrival. Customers who register the code in the Grab app can receive discounts worth up to 100,000 won on ride-hailing, food delivery and grocery shopping. The offer is available while supplies last.
"We designed this promotion so that customers traveling to Taiwan and Southeast Asia this summer can use roaming services at a reasonable price and enjoy partnership benefits as well," said Kang I-hwan, head of KT Corp's Customer Service Division. "We will continue to prepare a variety of benefits so customers can conveniently use roaming services abroad."
