System monitors Naver, YouTube and other platforms to support policy decisions under the 9th elected administration
South Chungcheong Province has launched an AI system that monitors public opinion across multiple online channels — including Naver and YouTube — in real time to support provincial policy decisions.
The provincial government said Monday it had officially launched the "Public Sentiment AI Dashboard," a service designed to track social media opinion in real time and support policy decision-making under the 9th elected provincial administration.
The dashboard was developed to consolidate and analyze public opinion scattered across online platforms, allowing officials to get ahead of emerging sentiment and craft policies that more directly reflect residents' concerns.
Data is collected from Naver, YouTube, Instagram and major online communities. The system filters out spam and promotional content in advance to ensure data reliability.
Through the dashboard, officials can see at a glance the total volume of mentions for key campaign pledges and policy keywords, as well as trending related terms.
An AI-powered sentiment analysis module also visualizes positive and negative public reactions to policies, enabling the province to identify potential points of conflict early and craft more effective, targeted policy responses.
The dashboard is displayed on a monitor installed in the governor's office, rotating in real time alongside the province's statistical dashboard.
By the governor's directive, the data will be shared with all provincial employees through the internal data platform "Oldam," with the aim of facilitating rapid information sharing and policy development across all departments.
Jeon Seung-hyeon, the province's AI and data policy director, said the dashboard would "actively support data-driven, tailored policy initiatives under the 9th elected administration by providing a clear view of residents' voices and diverse public opinion." He added that the province plans to expand the service so that residents can also access and share the data.
