Singer Lim Chang-jung is set to share a story from when he won a music awards show.

Lim, a veteran entertainer known for his work as a singer, actor and variety show personality, will appear as a golden star guest on TV Chosun's entertainment program "Geum Taneun Geumyoil," a music variety show airing Friday.

During the broadcast, Lim will perform his hit song "Soju Han Jan," a glass of soju, as the opening act.

His enduring vocal quality draws admiration from the cast, who say he is "a genre unto himself." Lim also expresses enthusiasm, saying, "You're all people I've wanted to meet after watching on TV. I came out Thursday to listen to your songs."

The show also features a head-to-head singing competition centered on Lim's songs. Speaking about his own tracks, which demand high notes and sustained breath control, Lim says, "If you try to sing them live, it could ruin your career as a singer — your voice could give out, or word could get around that you can't pull it off."

Lim also recounts an episode from when he won a music grand prize following back-to-back hits with "Geuttae Ddo Dasi" and "Gyeolhonhaejwo" ("Marry Me").

Lim stuns everyone with the confession: "Back then, I got every insult I'll ever get in my lifetime," adding, "I was in the middle of singing and the entire audience just walked out."
