The Korea Golf Course Business Association (president Choi Dong-ho) said Wednesday that 25 of the 127 member golf courses that responded to its summer survey will close temporarily during the peak heat season, while the remaining 102 will operate as normal. The association surveyed its 209 member courses nationwide ahead of the summer heat.
Among the longer closures, Gonjiam CC will shut for 11 days, Wellington for 10 days, and Teddy Valley and Haebitchi Seoul each for seven days.
However, many courses have yet to finalize their closure schedules and plan to adjust them depending on weather conditions such as heat waves and localized heavy rain. Golfers are advised to check directly with individual courses before visiting.
The 25 courses taking summer closures, with their scheduled dates, are: Gonjiam (July 27–Aug. 6), Geumgang (every Monday from Aug. 3), New Korea (July 29–31), The Star Hue (Aug. 3–5), Rexfield (Aug. 3–6), Route 52 (Aug. 3), Blue Heron (July 27–31), Songchu (Aug. 10–12), Sinwon (July 27–30), Ananti Jungang — formerly Emerson — (Aug. 3–4), Asiana (Aug. 3), Anseong Benest (July 27), Yeoju Classic (Aug. 3–5), Woojeong Hills (July 28–29), Wellington (July 28–Aug. 6), East Valley (Aug. 3–6), Ildong Lake (Aug. 3–4), Cheonryong (Aug. 3–5), Teddy Valley (Aug. 3–9), T Cloud (Aug. 3–5), Pinx (July 15, Aug. 19), Hanwon (Aug. 3), Haebitchi Seoul (July 27–Aug. 2), Phoenix Pyeongchang (Aug. 31, Sept. 15) and Whistling Rock (Aug. 3–7).
