Mapo-gu District Mayor Yu Dong-gyun visited community centers in Ahyeon-dong and Dohwa-dong on Tuesday to continue his "Dialogue with Residents" series, gathering opinions from local residents and examining key neighborhood issues.

The series began Friday and follows a set format: each session opens with a report on the dong's major administrative matters and a presentation on residents' visions and development priorities, before moving into an open exchange of views.

Since the ninth elected-term administration took office, every session has been livestreamed in full on Mapo-gu's official YouTube channel, "Mapo Broadcasting." Residents who could not attend in person also joined the conversation Tuesday, leaving comments through the live chat.

Yu said he would address suggestions that could be answered on the spot immediately, and would consult closely with the relevant departments before promptly responding to matters requiring further review.

"The standard by which I run the district is whether something is in line with the law and regulations, and whether it genuinely helps residents," he said. "I will continue to pursue policy from the residents' perspective under these principles."

He added that the dialogue sessions are "not a one-time event but the beginning of ongoing communication," and that he plans to hold another round in November to share progress on initiatives and hear residents' views again.

Yu is scheduled to visit the remaining dong community centers through Monday, continuing his outreach to residents across the district.
