The Seocho-gu Council has finalized and unveiled a new slogan to serve as a guiding principle for its legislative work as the 10th-term council opens.
The new slogan — "By the Will of Residents, With the Strength of Seocho!" — encapsulates the council's commitment to fulfilling its role as a representative body and to elevating the standing of Seocho as one of South Korea's premier districts.
The first half of the slogan, "By the Will of Residents," reflects the council's conviction that residents are both the starting point and the destination of all legislative activity.
Elected by and working closest to the people, the district council sees itself not as a seat of political power but as a voice that faithfully represents what residents want.
Every legislative initiative must therefore be rooted in the aspirations of residents, and the direction of policy and development the council pursues must follow the course they set.
Central to that effort, the council says, is the process of bringing together the diverse voices of residents and channeling them into a single driving force for Seocho's growth. The council aims to serve as the unifying center that gathers and connects those voices, exercising a leadership that consolidates the will of the community.
That unified will then flows into "the Strength of Seocho" — becoming the energy and resolve that turns residents' aspirations into reality. If "the Will of Residents" is the destination, "the Strength of Seocho" is the engine to get there.
That strength encompasses Seocho's solid infrastructure, its abundant human and material resources, and its reputation as a place where people aspire to live. Above all, the council emphasizes that the mature civic consciousness of Seocho's residents is the district's greatest asset and most powerful force.
Alongside this, the 10th-term council draws attention to the special symbolism of the number 10 — a figure that represents both the completion of past achievements and readiness for a new era.
With that in mind, the council plans to attend to every aspect of residents' lives while using past accomplishments as a foundation to proactively shape and prepare Seocho for the next 40 years.
The council intends to put the newly adopted slogan to active use across its website, official social media channels and official documents, spreading the legislative philosophy of the 10th-term council among residents.
