Jongno-gu will tour all 17 of its neighborhoods to meet residents from Wednesday through July 28, the district office announced.
The tour was organized to share the core values and policy direction of the ninth directly elected district administration and to give District Mayor Yu Chan-jong a chance to hear residents' concerns firsthand.
The initiative focuses on communicating the district's vision for a new era of growth, highlighting key projects, and gathering broad input on local development.
Each stop will be divided into two parts: a first segment, "Field District Mayor's Office," in which Yu visits sites related to everyday complaints and listens to residents' suggestions; and a second segment, "Dialogue with Residents," aimed at building common ground with residents as policy partners.
The detailed schedule begins Wednesday in Cheongun-hyoja-dong, followed by Sajik-dong and Muak-dong on Thursday; Samcheong-dong and Pyeongchang-dong on July 20; Gahoe-dong and Buam-dong on July 21; Jongno 1·2·3·4-ga-dong and Jongno 5·6-ga-dong on July 22; Ihwa-dong and Hyehwa-dong on July 23; Changsin 1-dong and Changsin 2-dong on July 24; Changsin 3-dong and Sungin 1-dong on July 27; and Gyonam-dong and Sungin 2-dong on July 28.
The district plans to place resident suggestion boxes at each venue, collect written proposals, and follow up with residents on how their submissions were handled.
The tour marks District Mayor Yu's first major public outreach since taking office, carried out under his pledge to "act on residents' wishes, benefit the people of the district, and renew Jongno."
"I will keep my promise to listen more to residents and work from their perspective," Yu said. "I will lead Jongno's transformation on the foundation of sincere communication and empathy."
