Jeju Samdasoo announced Monday it has opened a brand store on JD.com, one of China's major e-commerce platforms.
The company signed an export contract with GS Global and shipped an initial consignment of 113 tons to China. Through the new brand store, Jeju Samdasoo aims to broaden its reach among Chinese online consumers.
China's bottled water market was estimated at around $32.8 billion in 2024, making it one of the largest in the world. The premium segment is expanding as consumers increasingly prioritize natural water sources and product quality.
Jeju Development Corp. is offering 500ml and 2-liter bottles through the brand store. JD.com's logistics network covers delivery to roughly 80 to 90 percent of regions across China.
As of last Wednesday, the brand store's customer approval rating for Jeju Samdasoo products stood at 100 percent. Buyers have left comments such as "the water has a smooth taste" and "it's great to be able to buy a brand I tried in Korea here in China."
Kang Seong-hun, acting president of Jeju Development Corp., said the company would "move toward the goal of achieving 100,000 tons in global exports by 2035, backed by clean-tasting water and a stable quality management system."
