Free delivery service linked to Ocheon-dong commercial district brings 'co-prosperity' spirit to the festival
As a relentless heat wave grips the region, Suncheon in South Jeolla Province is preparing to host a craft beer festival.
The city, led by Mayor Son Hun-mo, will hold the 2026 Suncheon Beer Festa at Ocheon Green Square on Saturday afternoon, promising a cool respite on a sweltering summer night.
Themed "Drink Different," the event will showcase distinctive craft beers from independent breweries across the country — a deliberate departure from major commercial beer companies — giving residents and tourists a memorable summer evening.
Representative craft breweries from five cities nationwide will take part: Suncheon, Yangsan, Changwon and Tongyeong in South Gyeongsang Province, and Gunsan in North Jeolla Province. Each brewery will present beers reflecting its own character and brewing philosophy.
A range of programs will keep visitors entertained throughout the night, including EDM performances, a lucky draw event and a beer-serving game.
To boost the local economy and add convenience for festival-goers, the city has introduced a free delivery service tied to the Ocheon-dong commercial district.
Visitors who place a phone order of 15,000 won ($10) or more from participating stores can have their food delivered free to a designated delivery zone at the entrance of Ocheon Green Square, following instructions posted at the venue.
To ensure a safe and responsible event, alcohol purchases and participation in alcohol-related activities will be limited to adults wearing a designated age-verification wristband, with measures in place to prevent minors from buying alcohol entirely.
"The Suncheon Beer Festa is a special festival where you can discover distinctive local craft beers from five cities across the country, all in one place," a city official said.
Further details are available on the Suncheon city website and the city's official tourism social media channels.
