340 agencies assessed in Ministry of Interior and Safety review

High marks for disaster organization, staffing, accident prevention and response

Korea Industrial Complex Corp. announced Monday it received the top "excellent" rating in the Ministry of Interior and Safety's 2026 Disaster Management Evaluation.

The evaluation is a system established under the Framework Act on Disaster and Safety Management to comprehensively assess the response capabilities of disaster management agencies. This year's review covered 340 institutions in total — 30 central government ministries, 67 public institutions and 243 local governments.

The assessment covers institutional capabilities across all phases of disaster management, including prevention, preparedness, response and recovery. Results are classified into three ratings: excellent, average and poor.

Korea Industrial Complex Corp., assessed as a public institution in the safety management category, received high marks for its disaster response capabilities, actual cases of disaster and accident prevention and response, and the adequacy of its disaster management organization and staffing.

The corporation also earned credit for strengthening its dedicated disaster management unit to prevent industrial complex accidents and improve on-site response, as well as for providing safety management support to tenant companies and promoting a safety culture.

Additional recognition came for proactively inspecting hazards within industrial complexes and building a cooperative framework with local governments, fire departments and other relevant agencies to improve the effectiveness of on-site response.

"We will advance our disaster safety management system to build industrial complexes that the public and businesses can trust."
