SSG.com said it is running a membership grocery shopping event called "SSG 7 Club Week" through Wednesday ahead of Chobok, the first of the traditional midsummer heat periods.

The event features more than 200 grocery products at special prices. An additional 10 percent discount coupon can be applied to individual sale items. SSG 7 Club members also receive a 7 percent cart coupon and a 7 percent billing discount on participating cards, on top of the membership's standard 7 percent reward accumulation.

Norwegian mackerel fillets are priced at around 11,000 won ($7), while Harim Chuncheon-style chicken galbi is available for around 7,600 won. Ready-to-eat items including Pulmuone dongchimi naengmyeon and Bibigo white kimchi are offered at up to half price. Joseon Hotel samgyetang and samgyetang ingredient kits are also on sale at reduced prices.

The company has also prepared benefits for new SSG 7 Club members. Those who sign up this month will receive two months of monthly membership fees refunded as SSG Money. Customers who join the Tving-linked plan will receive an additional 4,000 won in SSG Money on Aug. 14, separate from the membership fee refund.

An SSG.com official said the company plans to "continue offering membership-exclusive special prices that reflect seasonal demand."
