Jungnang-gu is rolling out a range of water play facilities this summer so residents can cool off safely close to home, the district announced.
Seoul Jungnang Water Park will operate from July 15 to Aug. 16. The water play areas at Sinnae Park and Bongsu Park will hold a special opening Saturday and Sunday before running from Friday, July 17, through Aug. 16. The children's water playground at Jungnang Camping Forest operates on weekends and public holidays from June 6 through Aug. 30, with three sessions daily — at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. — each lasting 40 minutes. Ground fountains at 13 parks across the district will also run through Aug. 31, operating four times a day: 12:30–1 p.m., 1:30–2 p.m., 4–4:30 p.m. and 5–5:30 p.m.
All facilities are open to the public, and toddlers and infants must be accompanied by a guardian. Seoul Jungnang Water Park charges age-based admission for children, teenagers and adults while admitting toddlers free. The water play areas at Sinnae Park, Bongsu Park and Jungnang Camping Forest are all free.
The district completed safety inspections, water quality tests and facility maintenance ahead of the opening season. Regular water quality monitoring, equipment checks and environmental upkeep will continue throughout the operating period to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for visitors.
Trained lifeguards and safety support staff will be stationed at all water play facilities. Seoul Jungnang Water Park will also have emergency medical technicians on site to enable a rapid response in case of emergencies.
Seoul Jungnang Water Park will operate a shaded waiting area beneath the Jangangyo overpass, using the space previously occupied by a foot volleyball court. The area, introduced last year and returning this year, is designed to protect visitors waiting in line from extreme heat.
"We will provide a water play environment where residents can feel safe, backed by thorough facility and safety management," district Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi said. "We hope families enjoy a cool and fun summer together in the heart of the city."
