GS25 said Thursday it will sell its whole-cucumber kimbap at all stores nationwide, expanding what had been a limited event product available only through mobile app pre-orders.

The kimbap is made with domestically grown fresh seaweed, a thin layer of rice and a whole cucumber rolled inside. At 211 kilocalories, it contains roughly half the calories of a standard kimbap roll. GS25 uses baekdadagi cucumbers, a variety known for their high moisture content and tender skin. Each pack comes with a serving of ssamjang dipping sauce.

GS25 first introduced the whole-cucumber kimbap as a limited event item in late June 2024, selling 1,000 units a day for five days — 5,000 in total — through its "Our Neighborhood GS" app. Each day's stock sold out within two hours. In 2025, the product was offered twice more, with all 8,000 units selling out.

GS25 plans to offer the whole-cucumber kimbap for about one month, timed to when cucumbers are at their most refreshing and crisp. An Jin-ung, a manager on GS Retail's FF team, said he hopes the product will "become a go-to seasonal convenience store meal — something people can enjoy at its tastiest, just like seasonal fruit and vegetables."
