Actor Yoon Yeo-jeong has earned a nomination at the Emmy Awards, the most prestigious television honors in the United States.

The Television Academy announced Wednesday that Yoon is nominated in the outstanding supporting actress in a limited or anthology series or movie category at the 78th Primetime Emmy Awards for her role in Netflix's "Beef" Season 2.

In the series, Yoon plays "Chairman Park," the new owner of a country club who operates at the apex of a world where money equals power, wielding calculated control over everything around her. She stars alongside Song Kang-ho, who plays her husband, "Dr. Kim."

Yoon previously made history in 2021 when she became the first Korean actor to win an Oscar, taking home the Academy Award for best supporting actress for "Minari." A win at the Emmys would add another milestone, making her the first Korean actor to claim the Emmy for supporting actress.

In the lead actor category, Lee Jung-jae won the Emmy for drama series in 2022 for "Squid Game." That same year, actor Jung Ho-yeon was nominated for supporting actress in a drama series for "Squid Game" but did not win.

"Beef" Season 2, directed by Korean American filmmaker Lee Sung-jin, drew wide attention with a sweeping haul of nominations announced Wednesday.

The series received 16 nominations in total, including outstanding limited or anthology series — the top prize equivalent — as well as outstanding lead actress (Carey Mulligan), outstanding lead actor (Oscar Isaac), outstanding supporting actor (Charles Melton), outstanding casting, outstanding contemporary costumes, outstanding directing and outstanding editing.

"Beef" had already dominated the same awards with its first season, released in 2024, winning eight Emmys including outstanding limited or anthology series and both lead acting prizes. Korean American actor Steven Yeun took home the lead actor award that year.

The 78th Emmy Awards ceremony will be held Sept. 14 at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
