Hyundai Movex has won the Ministry of Employment and Labor minister's award in recognition of its safety management practices at smart logistics installation sites. The company was praised for advancing its risk assessment framework — which identifies and addresses on-site hazards before they occur — and for applying a digital safety management system.

Hyundai Movex said Wednesday it took the top prize in the small and medium-sized construction category at the final round of the 2026 Risk Assessment Best Practices Competition, held Tuesday at Kintex in Ilsan, Goyang, Gyeonggi Province.

The annual event is organized by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency to identify and promote outstanding practices in preventing serious workplace accidents. The ministry regards risk assessment as a tool for preventing industrial accidents through a joint effort by employers and workers to identify and address hazardous factors. The competition has been held every year since 2013.

This year's competition began preliminary screening in April, dividing participants into four categories by industry and workplace size. A total of 16 workplaces — four from each category — advanced to the final round. Hyundai Movex cleared the preliminary stage before finishing first overall.

In its final-round presentation, Hyundai Movex outlined how it manages hazards at installation sites for its core businesses: smart logistics equipment and platform screen doors. The company said it proactively identifies risks that can arise during installation and construction, and has strengthened its accident prevention framework through pre-work hazard identification, joint inspections with partner companies, and intensive management of high-risk processes.

The digital transformation of its safety management was also cited as a key evaluation factor. Reflecting its identity as an AI- and robot-based logistics solutions company, Hyundai Movex has been expanding the operation of an intelligent occupational safety and health system. The approach uses on-site safety data to identify risks in advance and carry out preventive measures.

The company has also deployed a digital safety management solution called "Super Safe," developed by affiliate Hyundai Research Institute, at its sites. Super Safe is a platform combining Hyundai Movex's on-site safety management experience with Hyundai Research Institute's education capabilities, and is used to build a prevention-focused safety management framework.

Hyundai Movex operates its risk assessment system not only at project sites but also throughout the manufacturing process for its smart logistics equipment, identifying hazards for each task in advance and managing corrective measures to raise overall site safety standards.

The award also reflects the company's progress on ESG (environmental, social and governance) management. Hyundai Movex treats its safety and health management framework as a core element of corporate competitiveness and has been continuously upgrading its international standard management systems.

The company recently renewed five international standard certifications: ISO 14001 for environmental management, ISO 45001 for occupational safety and health, ISO 9001 for quality management, ISO 37001 for anti-bribery management, and ISO 37301 for compliance management. The renewals are intended to bring the company's safety, quality and compliance standards to a global level in line with its expanding overseas project portfolio.

"We hope this award will serve as an important opportunity for both our employees and partner companies to take safety management to the next level."
