Nano Korea 2026 is recognized as one of the world's three leading international nano-convergence business expos, reflecting South Korea's status as a global technology powerhouse.
Wonju, home to companies specializing in advanced biotech, medical devices, AI technology and semiconductors, will participate in the expo to attract investment and businesses in the advanced industry sector.
The 24th Nano Korea opens Wednesday at KINTEX in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Science and ICT. More than 400 companies will present their latest technologies and products across fields including nanomaterials, semiconductors, secondary batteries, biotech, medical devices, advanced ceramics and smart sensors.
Wonju will operate a joint promotional booth with Gangwon Province, actively promoting its investment environment — including tailored business support programs, investment incentives and infrastructure development achievements aimed at fostering advanced industries.
City officials will also visit individual company booths to hear about investment plans and challenges, and conduct one-on-one investment consultations to identify promising companies and pursue investment opportunities.
After the expo closes, Wonju plans to continue providing investment information to companies that expressed interest on the floor, sustaining follow-up outreach until actual investments are secured.
Through these efforts, the city aims to strengthen its corporate cooperation network, expand investment results and accelerate the development of an industrial ecosystem centered on advanced industries.
Wonju is intensifying its efforts to attract top-tier companies this year, expanding its external outreach with a total of seven appearances at major domestic and international expos.
"Participating in Nano Korea 2026 is one of our proactive investment attraction efforts to bring in outstanding advanced technology companies," Mayor Ku Ja-yeol said. "We will continue to work harder to attract such companies so that Wonju can leap forward as a future hub for advanced industries."
