Dongjak-gu District Mayor Ryu Sam-young

Dongjak-gu will hold a series of community forums titled "Ninth Elected-Term Vision Sharing and Resident Communication Day," touring all 15 dong over eight days from Wednesday through July 20 to mark the launch of the ninth elected-term administration.

The forums are designed to share the core values and governing direction of the ninth elected-term administration with residents and to incorporate neighborhood-specific long-standing projects and pending issues into policy planning. District Mayor Ryu Sam-young will be joined by Seoul Metropolitan Council members, district council members, heads of affiliated agencies, representatives of functional organizations and residents.

The schedule runs as follows: Noryangjin 1 and 2-dong on Wednesday, Sadang 1 and 2-dong on Thursday, Sangdo 3-dong and Daebang-dong on Friday, Sangdo 2 and 4-dong on Monday, Sadang 5-dong on Tuesday, Sindaebang 1 and 2-dong on July 15, Sadang 3 and 4-dong on July 16, and Sangdo 1-dong and Heukseok-dong on July 20.

Each forum will be divided into two parts: the first focused on resident communication and the second on inspections of key local sites.

In the first part, Ryu will review neighborhood issues and major projects before hosting a town hall-style "resident empathy talk" session in which the district mayor and residents exchange views freely.

All suggestions raised at the forums will be entered into a "Ninth Elected-Term Resident Opinion Database" and actively reflected in core policy development and district administration going forward.

The second part will involve visits to key sites in each neighborhood — including urban renewal zones, construction sites, traditional markets and commercial districts, and cultural, welfare and sports facilities — to check on project progress and hear directly from residents about inconveniences and requests, with a view to finding solutions.

All Dongjak-gu residents are welcome to attend. For details, contact the community center in each dong.

"The most important principle of the ninth elected-term administration is to set its direction according to what residents want and build it together with them," Ryu said. "I will faithfully reflect the diverse opinions that emerge from these forums in district governance and create changes that residents can feel."
