Cheongdo-gun in North Gyeongsang Province will open its municipally operated park golf course in Cheongdo-eup for evening play through Aug. 30, the county announced Tuesday.

The course will be open from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily, closing every Monday.

The extended hours are intended to give residents a safe and comfortable place to exercise during the hot summer months.

"We will continue to put the health and happiness of our residents first, and work harder to expand the foundation for recreational sports and improve the operation of sports facilities," Cheongdo-gun County Chief Park Gwon-hyeon said.
