Taewang announced Tuesday that it successfully concluded the "Sacheon Sky City AIDC Summit" at KB Insurance's Injaenium Sacheon Training Center in Sacheon, South Gyeongsang Province.

The event was organized to share plans for building an AI data center at Sacheon Sky City and to present a vision for developing a physical AI industrial ecosystem. More than 400 people attended, including officials from government, public administration, industry and the financial sector.

Attendees included National Assembly member Lim O-gyeong, Sacheon Deputy Mayor Kim Je-hong, South Gyeongsang Investment Agency Director General Kang Man-gu, Daegu Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Park Yun-gyeong, Sacheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Hwang Tae-bu and Jeongchon Ppuri Industrial Complex Chairman Kim Su-gwon, as well as representatives from IM Bank, Hana Securities and Kiwoom Securities.

The Sacheon Sky City AI data center project aims to build world-class AI infrastructure linked to the government's designation of the area as a leading physical AI region.

According to the project plan, the data center will be built on a site of about 15,000 pyeong (1 pyeong equals 3.3 square meters) and developed as a hyperscale facility with an initial capacity of 80MW, scaling up to 200MW.

On the construction side, the company plans to apply ultra-high-performance concrete (K-UHPC) to strengthen the durability of exterior walls and interior columns and ensure a stable operating environment. Taewang said the technology is expected to enhance resilience against disasters and external threats while securing long-term operational stability for the data center.

The project will incorporate ultra-high-performance concrete technology from SCE Construction, based on a technology transfer from the Korea Institute of Civil Engineering and Building Technology. Solutions from STLogic, a company specializing in manufacturing data transformation, will also be introduced to build an AI-based manufacturing innovation platform.

Alongside this, the company plans to establish a research and development center to support R&D for physical AI companies and startups, and to nurture globally competitive AI firms.

"We will develop the Sacheon Sky City AI data center into a core hub for national strategic projects and elevate South Korea's AI industry competitiveness to the next level," Taewang Chairman Noh Ki-won said. "We will push ahead with the project without delay so that it can contribute to revitalizing the local economy and securing future growth engines by linking the AI data center with the physical AI industrial ecosystem."
