Opening ceremony of the Yongsan District Council

Seoul's Yongsan-gu District Mayor Kim Kyung-dae attended the opening ceremony of the 10th Yongsan District Council on Tuesday at the council's main chamber, offering congratulations and pledging cooperation between the council and the district administration.

The ceremony was attended by Yongsan District Council members and district office officials. It opened with a national salute, followed by a lawmakers' oath, an opening address by Yongsan District Council Speaker Jang Jeong-ho, a congratulatory speech by Kim, and an introduction of senior district officials.

In his address, Kim said the council and the administration play different roles but share the same goal — the happiness of residents and the development of Yongsan. "We will communicate closely and cooperate with the council to ensure that projects determining Yongsan's future — including the Yongsan International Business District, Yongsan Park development, Yongsan Electronics Market redevelopment and railway underground relocation — are carried out successfully," he said.

Kim added that "healthy checks and balances produce better governance, and genuine cooperation produces greater results," vowing to work with the council to build a new future for Yongsan that lives up to residents' expectations.
