KCC is putting safety-environment design at the center of its pitch at the Korea International Safety and Health Show (KISS 2026), targeting the industrial safety market. The move signals a strategic expansion of the company's portfolio — traditionally anchored in functional coatings and fireproofing materials — into an integrated safety solutions offering, riding a wave of increased corporate safety investment that followed enforcement of the Serious Accidents Punishment Act.

KCC announced Tuesday it is participating in KISS 2026, running through Thursday at Kintex in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, where it is presenting safety-environment design solutions covering color, design, materials and construction. The show, backed by the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, is the country's largest industrial safety event, with about 300 companies and more than 1,200 booths.

KCC has organized its exhibition around the concept "Color for Safety," centering on safety-environment design built to help workers intuitively identify hazards on the job. The approach combines color, spatial layout and signage systems to strengthen accident prevention — reflecting a broader industry shift from equipment-focused safety management toward visually driven prevention frameworks.

On display are a color universal design-based visibility improvement system, functional safety coatings including photoluminescent, neon, anti-slip and fireproof variants, evacuation guidance signage, and virtual reality safety experience content. The company is also showcasing its painting automation robot "Smart Canvas," presented as a technology that improves worker safety and construction quality at the same time.

KCC plans to highlight the real-world effectiveness of its safety-environment design through case studies from major industrial clients, including HD Hyundai Heavy, Hyundai Engineering and CJ CheilJedang. The strategy centers on demonstrating practical applicability at actual industrial sites through improvements to hazard zone identification systems and enhanced workplace visibility.

Industry observers say KCC's approach reflects a broader shift in the industrial safety market from a compliance-driven model to one focused on proactive investment and management. The trend of building materials and coatings companies expanding beyond functional products into the design and planning stage has become increasingly pronounced.

KCC is also participating in safety culture outreach activities in cooperation with the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, and plans to expand its reach into manufacturing, construction, logistics and public facilities to capture new demand. "We are proposing integrated solutions spanning safety-environment design, functional coatings, fireproofing systems and automation robots," said Kim Gwang-ju, executive director at KCC. "We will continue to deliver differentiated customer value in the industrial safety market."
