The Goryeong-gun Assembly held the first plenary session of its 312th extraordinary session Monday, electing Na Young-wan as speaker and Kim Sang-nam as deputy speaker of the 10th Goryeong-gun Assembly for the first half of its term.

In remarks after his election, Na said he would "work to build an assembly where all lawmakers are respected and can freely exchange views, and strive to improve residents' quality of life and advance the region through a balanced relationship of cooperation and oversight with the executive branch."

Kim said he would "support the speaker and fellow lawmakers in carrying out their duties faithfully and contribute to building an assembly united through harmony and communication," adding that he would "fulfill his role so that the assembly earns the trust of residents."

Meanwhile, the 10th Goryeong-gun Assembly has pledged to build a trusted assembly that communicates closely with residents under the motto "Through the eyes of the people, side by side with the people," working to promote regional development and improve residents' well-being.
